PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project involved the construction of a new watermain along three streets
in Uralla. The works included the installation of hydrants, stop valves and bends, underboring garden beds, connecting existing services to the new main, and connecting the old main to the new main.

Scope of works:

• Coordination with TfNSW to obtain ROL to commence the works
• Installation of 400m of DN100 watermain
• Installation of 150m of DN150 watermain
• Supply and installation of hydrants, stop valves, bends, and associated fittings
• Underboring beneath garden beds to protect landscaped areas
• Service connections to the new watermain
• Decommissioning and connection of the old main to the new system

 

Project challenges/risks:

Coordinating closely with local businesses to
minimise disruption
Always maintaining driveway access for businesses
Avoiding disturbance of garden beds and landscaped areas
Installing the watermain at greater depth where existing services conflicted with the
alignment
Working safely near New England Highway
