PROJECT OVERVIEW

Construction of a 70ML in ground storage/reservoir (225,000 m3 of excavation and spoil removal), design and construction of associated pump station, as well electrical, telemetry and automation work. Additionally, the project required installation of a river intake system and a 2km DN675 rising main.

Project challenges/risks
– Extreme Heat – working in temperatures up to 48 degrees
– Deep excavations up to 11m requiring shoring boxes and sheet pilling
– Heavy machinery (225,000m3 of dirt moved in 5 months)
