Gunnedah Watermain Replacement

Trazlbat delivered the construction of a new trunk water main pipeline connecting Bore No. 6 on Studdy Lane to the new Water Treatment Plant on Kelvin Road, Gunnedah. The approximately 2.7-kilometre pipeline forms a critical component of the region’s water supply network, linking five production bores to the upgraded treatment facility and strengthening long-term water security for the Gunnedah community.

Designed to meet the operational and capacity requirements of the upgraded water supply system, the pipeline incorporated diameters ranging from DN355 to DN500 and included all associated valves, fittings, and civil infrastructure required for reliable network operation.

Scope of Works

• Construction of approximately 2,715 metres of trunk water main pipeline between Bore No. 6 and the new Water Treatment Plant.
• Supply and installation of DN355 to DN500 polyethylene (PE) pipework.
• Installation of stop valves, scour valves, and air valves throughout the pipeline corridor.
• Installation of bends, tees, and associated pipeline fittings.
• Construction of scour valve pits and associated discharge pipework.
• Excavation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction works along the pipeline alignment.
• Pressure testing, commissioning, and integration of the pipeline into the existing trunk water network.
• Site reinstatement and restoration of disturbed areas following construction.
